Blog #42. Loch Lomond -Come on Pilgrim. My life in Loch-down.

Welcome back beer fans, here we go again: another amazing summer day = another beer.

A lot of us non-essential workers have gone back to work this Monday; some have probably done all those little jobs around the house and are glad to go back to work. Then there are many people like me, who need to book themselves into rehab before I go back.

The beer of choice today is another Scottish beer: Come on Pilgrim by Loch Lomond.

It is a New England pale ale that sits at 5% alc volume.

Loch Lomond claim it is a 'bold and hazy New England IPA, bursting with Amarillo, Galaxy and Mosaic hops'.

Big aromas of stone fruit and pineapple lead the initial taste into super juicy citrus fruit flavours. The finish is more juiciness, a touch of sweetness and almost no bitterness.

I got several Loch Lomond drinks with my Flavourly delivery and Come on Pilgrim was my favourite of a good selection of beer, to be honest.

Whilst on lockdown, I’ve spent a lot of my time finishing off some of the building work that wasn’t quite finished from an extension on my house in the run up to everyone being asked to watch Netflix competitively.

In between these jobs, I’ve been enjoying a 'good' amount of beer and was asked by Ben if I fancied reviewing the beers I was drinking. To be honest, it was a great chance for me to look less of an raging alcoholic, and more of a bonafide “drinking enthusiast”.

What of the beer you say? Well, this is a beer with a nice fruity note to it, slight pineapple taste with not a lot of bitterness and at 5% it is strong enough to not feel purely like a fruit drink as you can taste the alcohol hidden behind that tropicalness.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes and I wouldn’t worry about them not liking it, as I think this beer will tick a lot of boxes for most beer fans. Plus, if they don't like it, I'll finish it for them (post lockdown and after social distancing rules of course),

I'll give it a 7/10.
