No, I’m not talking about Jesus (he’s busy). Usually, when I return somewhere it’s to apologise for the first time.
Today is the perfect day: the suns out, the smell of a bbq in the air and a fresh new beer on ice.
The beer of the day is Pineapple Milkshake (5.3% alc volume) by Black Sheep Brewery in Yorkshire, it’s brewed with pineapple juice, lactose and vanilla.
It claims to be a juicy, tropical and smooth IPA - a summer beer aimed to bring some sunshine into all my beer fans lives (except my pale skin ones, stay inside, it burns!).
This type of beer is not one I would usually go for and this is what excites me about these blogs: drinking beers I usually wouldn’t drink and finding one I love.
Once opened, you instantly get hit by the pineapple aroma unlike yesterday's beer.
The Pineapple Milkshake is a winner, I think I have my new summer beer. Light, fruity and fresh, but still keeping the taste of a more traditional IPA and not tasting like one of those gimmicky fruit drinks. The more I had, the more I wanted, the more I wished I had bought more.
The good people of Black Sheep Brewery should take a bow - a top summer beer. well done.
8/10

Please check out our ale-aderboard and if any of our beer fans have any recommendations or a good local brewery that would like us promote their wares, please get in touch - we would love to try your beer 😃
Very subtle to a point that it tastes like a pineapple sweet or lilt
No milky flavour?
Only lactose
Does milk play a part in the beer?
